This log home sold in May 2006 and then again in August of 2008.

Check out the pages at http://galechandler.home.att.net/

Construction started in July 2003. Just some outside work to finish when the weather improves.

Quiet country road . .paved . .not dirt!

Quick commute to interstate 91 or 93, skiing at Cannon Mountain or hiking in Franconia Notch.

Landaff is a small community of approximately 350 full time residents.

Basically a bedroom community, Landaff has no gas stations or grocery stores. Those conveniences are minutes away in Lisbon, Woodsville or Littleton.

If you are looking for a quiet country setting, with wildlife at your door, this is it.

Dear Ann:
The log home has come out beautifully! Congratulations! It's pretty exciting to see the outcome of all your work, having heard about the masterpiece while it was still in progress.
As you know, we're committed to the other side of the state, but I did have a question that might be of interest to prospective buyers: what is the footprint of your home? I couldn't find this info on the web page. Also, that concrete island in the kitchen looks great -- did you make this yourself?
Congrats again, and looking forward to reading posts about the next one!

Best,

Sharon

The dimensions are 28 by 45 interior dimension. The concrete island was done by us . . no cement mixer .. .each 1/2 bag mixed by hand in the wheelbarrow.

The house has 15ft vaulted ceilings throughout. The railing system is going on the front deck now and the side deck . .may become the side farmers porch. Still contemplating there . . if the house does not sell by August we will be changing the listing to allow it to stay on the market but the new owner would have to wait until April/May to take possession. We don't want to still be under construction on the new log home and unable to move in. Winter would not be pleasant living in the 5th wheel . . .if you know what I mean.

The dimensions of the dwelling and individual rooms are listed at www.peabodysmith.com. Go to their residential listings and select Landaff, NH. If you check the MLS listings it is Residential Listing Reference Number: 194757 - the only home for sale in Landaff, NH at this time. The other log home and the old 1800 Colonial listed there are under contract.

Log home not listed with Real Estate Agency at this time . . .but still for Sale.

Six months with the Real Estate Agency and they showed the home 4 times. Seems that they were more interested in selling the properties they had listed for $500,000 and up as well as the lots that they had in the developments/communities that they have started.

Dear Ann -
If you move that home to "our" side of the Whites, it will sell (for twice the price) in minutes! :-) Why hasn't Bode Miller bought it yet? He must just not know about it.

Have you tried advertising in places like the AMC Outdoors (the monthly magazine of the Appalachian Mountain Club)? I think quite a few people have had luck moving/buying property in your area via this magazine.

Best of luck with the progress of your sale. I was going to say, "it must look like a winter wonderland up there now," but with the weather we're having in New England this month, I think the snow might be gone.

Best,

Sharon A

Bode Miller . . . heck the guy Don is currently working for is a friend of his . .I will have to find out whats up there.

Snow .. .then rain to wash it all away . ..Snow . . then rain to wash it all away. .. so much for winter.

So people should be looking for something on this side of the Whites - same house ..lower prices . .

Well we are thinking. . the house is just waiting for the right person . .

Hello . .right person .. .where are you???
