Click here to check out the Bear Creek Restoration channel. I have a couple cheesy, low budget, no talent videos up there that will give you an idea of what the glass blasting is all about.

The two video pictures look the same, but you'll see one is raw footage, about 30 seconds worth, and the other is about 1 minute of different shots.

I welcome all comments and criticism...

That is impressive speed that it cleans off the top layer. It is hard to see on the video, but the wood and the old finish look pretty good, so why take such measures? I also wonder about the approximate cost and time required. Can you give some indication on that for say 1000 sq ft of log wall?

Bob, good questions.

In this case, the home had been coated heavily three times with CWF stain. In most areas the finish was opaque, and had really mold and mildew problems both on the surface and between coats.

In order to get the entire project to match correctly, we stripped a house, carport, and workshop/garage.

You're right, the wood was in pretty good shape. No buffing was required here, although some times the wood is so "dry" or deteriorated, the buffing becomes necessary to get a good solid substrate.

As far as pricing, I usually reserve conversations like that for the phone. :) I'd be happy to talk to you about specific variables, including type of stain, number of coats, access, height, etc. Also, geographic considerations apply, as the type of media I'm using costs quite a bit to ship, depending on where its going, so that would affect final cost as well....

What happens to the glass, does it embed in the wood or fall to the ground?
I dont see you wearing any special equipment.
