After reading the first post where Greg called out those he believed were behind in payments, I believe I have seen the end of what was a great informative site where everyone could post advice and opinions.

I understand you are the owner of this site but you stepped over the line, and I for one will have to say thanks for all the terrrific info but I cannot be part of a site that pulls stunts like this, deletes the response, changes his original post and then locks the thread. Kind of that big brother BS we have ranted about here and on other sites.

To all who have helped me, thanks and keep in touch.

Greg I hope you have a change of heart with the responder, you struck first and should have expected a response like that. Call it what you will, juvenile at best is what I observed.

Cheers

Life is 90% REaction/10% action. Any one of us can make an error in judgement at any time, especially out of deep frustration. Ain't none of us perfect! If we choose to let a momentary lapse on Greg's part make us banish such a helpful site from our lives, do we really think we're punishing anyone other than ourselves? I have never been on any message board site that wasn't controlled by the owner - that's just part of the deal.

Bob's choice of language on a public forum went way beyond the rules (not just Greg's rules). It's a totally different issue.

BTW, I'm sure anyone who wishes to contact Bob can do so via his email, which is listed on all his posts if I recall correctly. I doubt he'd be any less helpful just b/c he's teed off at Greg.

Personally I understand the frustrations involved and forgive all around . . .

To err is human, to forgive is divine.

Well, I'm certainly human...perhaps juvenile is a good term for my occasional actions. I was pretty hot looking at old A/R on Saturday. As I stated, I could have made mistakes in my Quickbooks data and probably did. But I've got to draw the line somewhere, so I just made those 10 companies invisible, wiped out the debt (ate it), and we will start over with a clean slate if they want to. I can't go on giving free rides...no matter how good a contributor the owner is. It's not fair to the companies that do pay.

As to 'crossing the line'...all lines on this site are mine, juvenile or not. As to language used I won't tolerate that kind of abuse to me or my site. There is no second chance. End of story.

As to deleting, changing, and locking...those are my prerogatives. You can edit any thread/post you author. Unfortunately, when you delete a thread you take everyone else's post with you. This is what happened with Alan's posts. He took a whole bunch of Tim Bullock's posts (and many others)down by deleting his own.

I'm always sorry to loose any member and have only banned about 3 in the 12 years I've owned this site. The information here is for your benefit and the site was created out of a love for log homes...nothing more.

BTW, if this thread goes on in this vein, I will probably move it to Rants and Raves.
