My husband and I are in the process of trying to purchase a log home in Calvert County, MD. Here is our problem, there is extensive wood rot on the corners of the house.
A contractor was hired by the current owner of the home and he seems to think that this is no problem and that "GIT-ROT" will correct this problem.
My internet research on Git Rot shows that this is a 2 part epoxy process that penetrates rotten wood, and is primarily used on wooden boats. I must admit that we are quite skeptical about purchasing this home if proper repairs are not made.
Is there a more suitable method for repairing this problem? Is this a standard fix for log home rot. Please help
