I was wondering what most people do for their interior?
I was wondering how sanded fir logs and a knotty pine T & G ceiling would look with a clear only. My home is facing north in a wooded lot and will see very little direct sun.
I did see one log home with a very light white pigment and didn't
like it because it looked too white for the whole surface...the owner was also unhappy with it. I just don't want to take any chances.
Does anyone, who uses a light honey on the exterior use the same color for the interior? or is it to dark considering my conditions?
Thank you for any ideas or thoughts.
Ps. Would I be better off to pressure spray the whole interior after the T & G is installed?

Jim:

One always more options on the interior than exterior., since any product you use on the inside will never "weather" off. Keep in mind, there is no UV protection in a clear sealer, period, so it should never be used on the outside to prevent logs from "aging". It won't work. Interior logs will also fade over time without UV protection (pigment), although the process is much, much slower (years, not weeks or months). If you don't get much sunlight coming in the windows, a pigment just isn't important to you from a protection point of view.

Color is a preference (UV protection aside) only. My experience is that MOST homeowners go with a lighter pigment on the interior than exterior....or they go with a clear, whether it be just a clear sealer or the more pronounced Acrylic Gloss or Satin. Incidently, our Light Honey stain is by far our post popular interior color. If you want some free bottles to test out, let me know.
