central vaccum system

I'm interested in installing a central vaccum system in my log home. Has anyone done this? Anything I should be aware of?

Hi Bret,
Sorry I didn't see your post before. We are putting one in our model. We also have one in our house that was installed after the house was built.

The hose on those things is pretty long. We only needed three outlets in our house which is about 2000 sq. ft. The third was needed because we had a room above the garage.

You might only need one outlet per floor and as long as you have an interior wall in the middle somewhere, it shouldn't be a problem. The outlets usually are in the middle so you don't need many.

I can let you know how ours goes in, but there really shouldn't be a problem, it's easier than electricity as it goes in the center of the house and it's not so important where.

Don't do it. Every guy I have met who went through a divorce lost the Vacuum. Go with a Dirt Devil. This way you may get to keep the house if she becomes a She Devil!!! ;)
