This is a very small picture and only shows 3 steps. Has anyone ever seen this done before on stairs?

Alan,

I called the guy that made these stairs. He was given credit in the book. I've sent him my plan and he is going to give me a quote on making them. My builder also said he thought he could do this and would welcome the challenge. I'll let you know how it turns out. Ed Adams is the guys name out West that made the stairs in the picture. He had a connection to AR since his mom lives here in the state--also he told me those were done in a cabin where they were doing a period restoration project.

It certainly is a small world when it comes to log building. Ed Adams is an excellent builder (handcrafter) and is my neighbor, once removed. Out here in central Oregon that means he is one house away from me ~ 1-1/2 miles. Log Rhythms has designed Ed's last two personal homes, the log home between us, one to the west of Ed, and another small one to the south of our place. I didn't know this was Ed's work until I saw his name and confirmed it by phone.
We both are lucky enough to get to look at this everyday.

Since Alan took his dovetail home away, I thought I'd bump this thread back up to the top.
I abosultely love these stairs!!

and I have to say Greg, you gave up a million dollar view when you moved to the Shire.

Don't worry...my wife and I will have some of our ashes strewn about the old place. :D:D:D

That view is always in my heart.

And Ed Adams is worki9ng hard every day on log homes, too.
