I am in need of wood filler or patch to repair a few holes in my logs. Is there a certain brand that works better than all others? I need a filler that I can stain and that wont shrink over time like the generic brands that I have used in the past. Due to the area I live in, (rural Alaska) I can't just drive to the Hardware store and try all the brands, so I would like to be able to order the filler through the mail. BTW, I have my T&G planks in my basement and am waiting for winter to start on my ceiling project.

Hi Dixon...if you'd like a free sample of MBalm and EWood, let me know and I'll get it to you. The wood filler does not shrink, and while no wood filler will take stain the same as the wood, it will stain much better if it's applied as soon as the wood replacement is formed into place, not allowing it to cure first. MBalm is the hardening agent which is applied by brush on to which EWood is applied. You can leave me your address here or send me an email.

Hello Maneki,

You are a most fortunate individual indeed. I believe that by searching the various pages of the following link you will not only receive answers to the question that you asked, but you will also find that the project that you wish to complete will be completely tax deductible:

Living in Alaska is not for everyone, but for those few fortunate enough it has many perks!
