Been studying in great detail SIP technology.
They seem ideal for log homes and potentially
a lot of labor savings for a roof.

Any experiences (bad or good) anyone can share?

Thanks

Hi
I was going to use SIP's and put alot of thought into it.
The reason I didn't was because of all the ceiling can lights I used in the ceiling...The mfg. said I needed to use a low voltage light
because of the heat generated from the lights and the wiring
and cutting through the ridgid foam for the can lights was pretty involved. There may be other SIP companies who already have this detail worked out.
I also found out that bugs like to tunnel through the ridgid foam.
I understand that there was a company who treated their product
to ward off bugs?
Best of wishes

We have worked successfully with both Eagle Panel in Illinois and Precision Panel in (not to be confused) Eagle, Idaho. Ease and speed of installation is the greatest contributing factor. I recommend checking the product out. Slick for roof applications on log homes or wall panels between timber frame.
