Hi everyone: My next question is where to place outside lights to
emphasize and showcase our home . Is there a set way to do it? or is it ,say, in each outside corner , then shine a spotlight on the entrances?

I found the best way to both accent a house and to make a house more "neighbor friendly" is to place outdoor lights where the bulbs can't be seen from the road or other houses. My front porch lights are overhead instead of on the log wall by the door. My rear entry flood is tucked up under the eave shining down. The appearance from the road is of the glow of logs rather than the glare of bulbs. Most of my neighbors enjoy the dark night sky more than the sight of my house, so I turn them off when not in use.

Denise, I would wire every corner of the exterior for dual spotlight fixtures........inexpensive. You can vary the spots and use both or one of the holders depending on the light desired. With some careful planning, You can minimize (hide) them pretty well and you can direct them up or down....Remember, It is easy to install too many now and not use them than it is to do it later.

Im not sure Im doing this message board correctly, but thanks Tim. I thought that the corners were a good idea. Should we place them behind the house at the corners too? What about the entrances?

Thanks Bob for the advice. The area we are buiding is an old cornfield in Pennsylvania. It should be pretty dark. I agree with
the hidden bulbs. Originally from the city, we constantly had light shining in our eyes at night. One place had a light from a Coke machine pour into our room. Denise

Denise, Wire them wherever you need light......all around the house is great.
