We are considering using a glycol based borate solution on our logs, which is considerably more expensive than other powder based solutions and requires some additional waiting time before applying stain. We have been told that the glycol product is a once in a lifetime application and will more fully penetrate our 10" logs. Can anyone verify the value of using a glycol-based product over a powder based product and what the pros and cons are for using either. Thanks much!
